Until that particle comes and eventually returns to the universe
MARCH 12, 2025Solo showExhibition |"Until that particle comes and eventually returns to the universe.” Venue | LURF GALLERY/ Roof Gallery 1F Dates |13 Mar (Thu) - 21 Apr (Mon), 2025 Opening |11:00-19:00 Address |Roob1, 28-13 Sarugaku-cho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo 150-0033 Admission|Free "Until that particle comes and eventually returns to the universe."Creation, for me, transcends “drawing.” It is the act of sensing the energy that creates our Earth, and even the universe, every day, and manifesting it as a work of art through my body. The great circulation of energy, the vast nature surrounding us — “Jinen” — is not only beautiful but also a grand and intense phenomenon that, at times, can swallow our very lives. Last year’s solo exhibition It calls: shades of innocence was a presentation that encapsulated this dynamism, where, in the face of beauty, there was also a simultaneous experience of awe. The exhibition created a space for contemplation of this experience through flat works. This year, I have been given another opportunity to meet with you all, and I aim to present the exhibition from a different perspective, offering a new way to experience last year’s display. To convey the purity of existence, I create colors every day. In the studio, when a speck of pigment left on my fingertip catches the light, there are moments when I stop and gaze at it. In that sparkle, I realize that even within the smallest things, something distant resides. I wonder what kind of story might lie in that tiny thing. Could the exhibition offer an opportunity for you to contemplate that? For this exhibition, I am painting cherry blossoms as a living phenomenon. When viewed with an incredibly small gaze, within a single petal, one can find the story of how life was formed. A drop of rain falling from the sky soaks into the soil, is absorbed by the cherry tree, and becomes a flower. It then leaves the tree with the wind that shakes the branches and begins its journey. Eventually, it will reach the sky (SORA) and return to something greater. I aim to paint such small things. Just as the world resides in a single petal, each of us humans carry the world within. I hope you will reflect upon this mystery. March 2025 For the Exhibition, Towa Takaya
Phenomena of the infinite
MARCH 04, 2025Solo showExhibition| “Phenomena of the infinite” Venue1 |Gallery - Ginza Mitsukoshi Main Bldg 7th Floor Dates |March 5 (Wed) - March 10 (Mon), 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. [last day ends at 5:00 p.m.] Venue2 |Promoting space - Ginza Mitsukoshi Main Bldg. 2nd Floor Dates |March 5 (Wed) - March 20 (Thu), 10:00 a.m. For me, the act of creation transcends mere ‘painting’; it is a means of sensing and manifesting the very energy that gives rise to this Earth and even the universe itself. Through my body, I bring this force into tangible form. To reveal the delicate rawness and depth of this phenomenon, I research and craft my own pigments.Colour engages the senses before they turn into a verbal perception. Its purity is closely linked linked to the purity of our sensory experience. The brushstrokes, free from boundaries, reflects continuous transformations of all things. They evoke nebulas, budding and blooming flowers, or the fluidity of water. An elusive phenomenon that shifts with the viewer's mental image, unconscious, and the light in which the work exists.None of us exist in isolation. Life is woven into the great cycles of all living beings, where everything breathes in harmony. This phenomenon of life itself is an irreplaceable force that shapes this world.Through the exhibition Phenomena of the Infinite, I invite you to engage in an inner-dialogue with the vast expansion of time and space, both in the universe and within yourself. I hope you will surrender to the depths of the inner world and the ever-changing fluctuations of the unconscious.Towa Takaya

Inversing Pictorial Space using Cosmetic Ingredients - A Collaborative Study on Oil Paintings
